AWARDS

One of the aims and objectives of the Trust is to inspire young musicians in the local area. In 2015 this aim was realised by giving Annual Awards for Excellence in Music Ability.

ST LAWRENCE SCHOOL ANNUAL MUSIC AWARDS 2022

This year the Trust was able to give 11 Awards to talented young people for excellent music ability. They received a certificate and a Presto Classical Music Voucher at a School Assembly in July.

The recipients were:

  • Rosie and Jemima for Flute
  • Rufus and Dylan for Brass
  • Jack and Alice for Violin
  • Jacob and Alex for Guitar
  • Eoin for Piano
  • Carerra and Dominic for Orchestra

Many of the recipients are still playing with the school though some have since progressed to different secondary schools. We wish them well for the future.

This year's winners of the Music Trust's annual scholarship awards are: Carys Roebuck and Maeva de la Vega Fawcett.

Their awards were presented at a recent rehearsal by Linda Scott OBE, Trustee and Chairman Howard Davies.

This year the Trust was able to increase the number of Awards given to talented young musicians from St Lawrence School. Children receiving awards were put forward by the School independent music teachers and also the staff at the school who have a great knowledge of and involvement with the talented young musicians. They received a certificate and Presto Classical Music Voucher at a School Assembly at the end of the summer term. The awards were presented by Linda Scott OBE and Gordon Clarke, Trustees of the Napton Music Festival Trust.

Awards 2015

St Lawrence School, Napton on the Hill

St Lawrence School, Napton on the Hill was the first school to be recognised in this way and 3 pupils received their awards at a School Assembly at the end of the summer term. Oliver and Lucy Railer and Catherine Brine were presented with certificates and a Presto Classical music voucher.

Warwickshire Young Voices

This local group was established in 2008 with a passion to provide all youngsters access to quality music education.

The Trust have given two young people from one of the Choirs an Award for their commitment to singing and their music ability.

In addition the Trust gave a grant to Warwickshire Young Voices for coach travel to The Royal Albert Hall last November where they sang The Messiah.
